Day 3 in Seattle

Well, Day 3 has come and gone. Today (5/16/2006) was all seminars – 6 in total. It was a long day, but I learned a lot of good stuff.

Todays sessions where

  • FRM229 – Microsoft Infopath 2007 integration and collaboration – highlights included email forms, infopath web forms, form and data importers, reusable form data that can be used with multiple forms, publishing forms as content types, and mobile browser infopath forms
  • BI227 – SQL Server 2005:The Business Intelligence Behind MOSS 2007 – very cool stuff in here, building full blown business intelligence applications using visual studio 2005 cube wizard. KPI, and BI reporting functionality in the new version of SharePoint is very cool stuff
  • FRM330 – Infopath forms into work flow – infopath is pushing around the IRM (information rights management) setting, you can now create a single data connection that lives in the same space as the infopath forms, and all the forms can share the same data connection
  • PTL212 – Content Personalization – this was all about the new functionalities built into the MOSS 2007 My Sites
  • CLI239 – Customizing With SharePoint Designer –  the SharePoint designer is a major leap forward for editing web pages, no-code app building, theming and css rendering. MOSS2007 uses the ASP.NET 2.0 system of Master pages and page rendering. This tool is Frontpage on steroids.
  • COL107 – All WSS – this was an overview of what will be in the new version of WSS ( content security, recycle bin, tracking comments, checkout enforcement, vastly improved outlook synchronization, signing other people up for alerts, SharePoint on mobile devices, blogs, rss, wiki)

After all of that Charlie and I decided to hit the space needle in Seattle. Here are some pics.
